Let’s make some delicious pilau. Don’t add tomatoes please! Only put tomato in kachumbari.


What you will need 


● 2 cups Basmati rice

● 6 medium potatoes (peeled and halved)

● 2 onions sliced

● 1 capsicum diced

● 3 Cardamom Pods

● 1/2 teaspoon whole black pepper

● 2- 3 sticks whole cinnamon

● 2 whole cloves (karafuu)

● 1 teaspoon whole cumin

● 1 kg Beef T-Bone steak (boiled)

● 1 tablespoon garlic ginger paste

● 2 tablespoon oil

● 1 teaspoon ghee (optional)

● 4 cups water

● Salt to taste
 

What to do 


▪ In pot or ‘sufuria’ over medium heat add the oil with the teaspoon of ghee and then go in with the onions, sauté for a minute don’t brown the onions, then go in with the whole spices sauté until fragrant and mix well then add the garlic ginger paste and potatoes cook for about 2 minutes.

▪ Add the boiled beef continue to stir well until flavors combine then add in the rice mix well then go in with the 4 cups of water, and bring it to a boil, adjust seasoning with salt and cook until its almost dry and water has evaporated cover and let it steam on low heat for 15mins, then fluff up the rice and serve with kachumbari and fried pilipili, dont forget to add banana. Enjoy.
