American Tuna Chilli Recipe
American Tuna Chilli Served With Hotdog Buns |
What you will need
● 200g baked beans (canned)● 200g red kidney beans (boiled)
● 3 tablespoons tomato paste
● 2 tablespoons oil
● 1 onion, chopped
● 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
● 1 teaspoon coriander powder
● 1 teaspoon minced garlic
● 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
● Juice of 1 lime
● Salt to taste
● 150g canned tuna in oil
● 1/2 bunch cilantro chopped
What to do
▪ In a pan over medium heat, add oil and saute the onions until golden brown. Add in minced garlic then continue to cook until fragrant.
▪ Add the tuna and mix well then the coriander powder, salt to taste, black pepper and tomato paste. Continue to stir until the mixture is thick.
▪ Add in canned red kidney beans with some water from the boiling pot. Mix well, then add in the canned baked beans with its sauce and bring to a boil for about 7 minutes or until the sauce is thick.
▪ Finish off with some lime juice and chopped cilantro then serve in a bowl with some yellow buns, popularly known as scones, on the side.
NOTE: You can make chili dogs if you wish by stuffing the chili mixture into a hotdog bun.
