Drumsticks are the lower part of the chicken leg, just below the thigh, also known as the calf or ‘paja la kuku’ in Kiswahili. Lemon Pepper Drumsticks  The chicken leg is traditionally known to be a treat for the father of the house and no one would touch it. Thankfully, a number of butchers now sell chicken pieces according to parts so you can purchase and cook drumsticks for everyone at home to enjoy. Kofta Meatballs With Eggs Recipe  Hello my Lovely Friends let’s make one of my delicious and simple-to-cook kofta meatballs with eggs. This a meal you can whip up on a lazy day. It takes about 10 minutes of preparation time and less than 20 minutes to cook. Kofta Meatballs With Eggs What you will need ● 500g minced beef ● 6 eggs boiled ● 1 teaspoon garlic ginger paste ● 1/2 teaspoon turmeric ● 1/2 teaspoon curry powder ● Salt to taste ● Juice of 1 lime ● 2 tablespoons tomato paste ● 1/2 cup chopped dania to boost the taste ● 2 tablespoons oil ● 2 tablespoons chili sauce What to do ▪ In a flat plate with minced meat, add salt, turmeric powder, curry powder, garlic ginger paste and 1/2 of the lime juice. ▪ Mix well with your hands until well combined. Tangy Super Delicious Tamarind Chicken  Recipe  Let’s make one of my signatures, the tangy tamarind (ukwaju) chicken. I love the tartness and combination of flavour in this recipe. We will use some chicken thighs, but if you wish, you can use a whole spring chicken for same recipe. Tangy Tamarind Chicken  What you will need ● 5 pieces of chicken thighs about 500g ● 1 1/2 teaspoon garlic ginger paste ● 1/2 teaspoon turmeric ● 1 teaspoon curry powder ● 1 teaspoon black pepper ● 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder ● 1/2 teaspoon paprika ● 1 onion sliced ● 1 tablespoon honey ● Salt to taste ● 2 tablespoons oil and ● 1 1/2 cup thick tamarind sauce/ extract ● 1 bunch fresh coriander What to do ▪ Pour all powdered spices; turmeric, curry powder, black pepper, coriander and paprika over the chicken and rub the mixture all over. Add the 1 teaspoon garlic ginger paste and salt, continue to rub and mix well using your hand. Set aside to marinate and infuse flavour for about 2 hour

Delicious Strawberry Smoothie Drink Let’s make my favourable  berry smoothie, we will use readily available frozen mixed berries (from major supermarkets) and fresh strawberries. We will combine mixed berries with milk and vanilla yoghurt to give you a smoothie that tastes like no other. The tartness from the berries, a touch of sweetness and sourness from the vanilla yoghurt and creamy texture from the whipped cream makes all the difference. Delicious Strawberry Smoothie  What you need ● 100g frozen mixed berries ● 50g fresh strawberries ● 500ml vanilla yoghurt ● 500ml frozen milk ● 250ml whipped cream ● 50g berry sauce (cook some berries in sugar and reduce them or dilute berry jam with a tablespoon of water) What to do ▪ Remove the leaves from 5-6 strawberries and put them in a blender. ▪ Add in the frozen mixed berries -- frozen berries tend to have more flavour and can keep for months in the freezer, perfect for making smoothies and sauces. ▪ Add in the vanilla

King Fish Steak Rice Recipe  Let’s make some king fish steak rice, this recipe is super simple to follow. All you will need is some good steaks of king fish and a few spices. It’s a super alternative to the usual pilau with a twist. Let’s cook! King Fish Steak Rice What you will need ● 3 slices king fish steaks ● 1 teaspoon turmeric ● 1/2 teaspoon garam masala ● 1 teaspoon garlic ginger paste ● Juice of 1 lime ● Salt to taste ● 1 large onion sliced ● 3 tablespoons oil ● 2 cups rice ● 4 cups water ● 1/4 cup cherry tomatoes (garnish) What to do ▪ Marinate the fish with lime juice, garlic ginger paste, salt, turmeric, garam masala and black pepper. Using your hands, rub the marinade all over the fish steaks, ensuring the marinade is distributed evenly. Set aside for an hour or so to infuse the flavour.   ▪ In a pan over medium heat, add in the oil and pan sear the fish until golden brown (about 3 minutes each side). Healthy Dates Shake Drink Let’s make my easy Dates shake ‘Cooler’ We will add some strawberries to enhance the flavour and rose sherbet or rooh afza (all readily available in our local food stores or supermarket). Dates are ultimate staple during the Fasting season. Traditionally, they are known as the food Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H ate when he broke his fast.
